Work Study Program
Make a difference at Lake Juneau!
Lake Juneau, a 1,500-acre spiritual and ecological sanctuary in the swampland of Louisiana, is seeking super energetic, enthusiastic volunteers. Explore your many talents in a challenging program where work is the vehicle for your inner development. Engage your mind, replenish your spirit and learn new skills in a wholesome, beautiful environment where accomplishment and learning about yourself go hand-in-hand. Stay for 3 months or more and receive housing, meals, and classes.
Vision Statement: To create a sustainable safari resort in order to offer workshops to the public.
Aims & Objectives:
Create a program to build a sustainable food system to feed the entire development, including building a greenhouse.
Update and repair existing building structures to accommodate overnight guests.
Build a sweat lodge and Maloka for retreat ceremonies.
Create an inviting environment through artwork, landscaping, and architecture.
Care for and learn about the diverse animal population living in our safari park.

Compassion for all walks of life and all sentient beings.
Integrity and honesty.
Volunteers can benefit from learning skills from some of the following activities:
Gardening and garden construction; animal care; carpentry; construction; artwork and sculpting.

Accommodations
Work-study volunteers will stay in the African Village which is comprised of 4 cabins on Lake Juneau with a private pier and floating platform. Volunteers will have access to laundry facilities, and room and board will be included. Must be able to commit to at least a 3-month stay. |
